Surprising to me how many posters know a lot about cost of shipping.
Yes, for 4800. per container port to port you can reach just about anywhere in the world today. And you can put four BMW's in a container if you build beam bridges. You can put a lot into one forty foot container. And some are refrigerated.

The pears were picked for transit as the o.p. had to wait a couple of days for ripening, so that was built into the plan.

Might just be how Verizon seels you a smart phone that cost 500+dollars for 199;they sell you something else. Store do draw sells all the time.often Many items like this vary as the date varies they need to be sold by also.
