Heck NO! And it disgusts me that some stores are going to be opened on Thanksgiving Day.

(Of course, I hate shopping anyway. )

Stores have to keep their customers happy.

Gift cards are terrible... that is why many of them don't get used...

If you are going to give a gift card, simply do one better and give cash. Cash is 100% better than gift cards... both are thoughtless gifts but you can spend cash everywhere!

I don't believe that and I wish people would give ME gift cards. The people I send them to are my kids and my sister. They all live far away, I don't know what they want or need and figure this way they can get that. They LOVE getting those cards. And they always get used. You can use gift cards anywhere too.

Did the majority of ours at the "hidden" JCP clearance of Fiestaware and Bodum stuff. We stumbled onto it the first day about two weeks ago and spent half the Christmas budget in the span of 3 days on gifts. Aside from hard to shop for relatives, we're done.

I never have before, but this year I need a new TV and the one I want is $700 off the lowest price I have found on the internet. I have to go at 8PM tomorrow (Thanksgiving day) to get it. It is guaranteed for one full hour, so I won't have to rush to find it and grab it before someone else. I plan on just strolling in at 8 and buying it.

I never really have done Black Friday. But this year I have paid attention to the "BF sale prices."

I never noticed or knew that the BF sale prices really are only for that day or weekend...and MAY not even be bargains.

My favorite arts-and-crafts store has large candles for 4 for 10.00 as a BF deal....well the candles were that same sale price last week, the week BEFORE Thanksgiving week.....AND the sale circular for next week is out already and the prices go back up to 3 for 10.00

I do see a VER FEW prices that are true bargains that were not available before now, and will likely end after this weekend. But all in all there's nothing that would make me deal with the store crowds or lines...NOTHING.

Not being into BF I sort of thought there were LOTS o GREAT DEALS! LOTS. The way people wait in line and talk about it you'd think it was the best sale of the year. EXCEPT for a VER FEW items, I've seen prices that were just as good at other times, when the crowds and lines AREN'T crazy.

way too time consuming to figure out when, how, rules for those doorbusters. Amazon is usually the best.
