The rich people voting to raise taxes will unlikely be personally affected.

This is so untrue and self serving. Democrats do not "believe that were born special".

Republicans are "Southern" and from "poor backgrounds"? All rich Republicans are from poor backgrounds? Really?

Been to Connecticut lately?

That's where the Bush family is from, by the way. And they have never been "poor". In fact they are related to the Royal Family in England.

Democrats are actually the party of the rich, the Republicans are the party of the middle class, and the Republicans may even have a slight lead over the Democrats in representing the poor. This doesn't fit the liberal narrative very well.

Could it be that "Reaganomics" and the "Bush tax cuts" actually favor the middle class more, and the rich less, than the corresponding liberal policies enacted under Clinton and Obama? Nearly three and a half decades of data suggest that this may be the case.

Right after the Supreme Court's decision to lift limits on campaign contributions, Democrats and their left-wing supporters assaulted the decision as a boon to Republicans, "the so called party of the rich." Oh the screams coming from the Democrats! Why? .

The villainous Koch brothers, those conservative plutocrats supposedly seeking to control American politics? They rank 59th on the list of big givers — behind 18 unions and No. 1 Act Blue, the massive left-wing fund raiser that gives only to Democrats. Democrats far outspend Republicans on elections. It isn't even close. Among the top 10 donors to both parties, Democrat supporters outspent Republican supporters 2-to-1.

So Democrats don't really want to restrain money in politics. Just the money that goes to Republicans.

And, by Obama's own admission, his party's control of Congress and the White House has led to 95% of all income gains going to the top 1% in income. Why wouldn't the rich guy support Democrats?

So please, enough of this about Democrats being the party of the little guy.

To be sure, labor unions (along with trial lawyers) still provide the majority of the Democratic Party’s campaign funds and organizational muscle on election day, but it is the super rich of Silicon Valley and Wall Street, combined with the super rich of Hollywood, who command the priority attention of Democratic Party leaders these days.

Yes, but haven’t many of the leading plutocrats, such as Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, embraced higher income taxes? Yes, they have, but one important fact has escaped notice:

higher income tax rates will not touch the bulk of the fortunes of today’s plutocrats, for the simple reason that the great bulk of the accumulated wealth of Gates, Buffett, Silicon Valley and Wall Street consists of appreciated asset values—not ordinary income.

Know the difference between income and wealth people.

Income: working poor, middle class, small business, people who depend on "income".
Wealth: Bankers, investors, people that are already rich already have money and don't depend on income.

Obama (Democrat) raised taxes on people who work to earn an income. He did not raise taxes on wealth.

Mostly but not 100% true. Didn't capital gains tax rates go up?

It'd be interesting to figure out what drugs you're on because you appear to be living in an alternate reality.

^^^ This is how liberals play. They attack, demonize, call anyone who tells the truth nuts but NOTICE they never say or post anything to back up their claim. They hope after they attack that anyone listening or reading will not consider the opinion of the person being attacked.
