The biggest stimulus is going to be international wealth from China. The Chinese middle class will be the largest in the world. Hey are just getting started. We haven't seen anything yet. We can benefit greatly from Chinese tourists, students, businesses, real estate buyers. We need to loosen our immigration rules to attract international wealth, which would help support our economy.

How much looser can they get ?
We're letting in the wrong class of people though.
The poor, uneducated and unskilled are free to walk across the border while the educated monied people have to wait on line.

We need to specifically attract international wealth. Rules and policies need to make that happen more easily.

Chinese tourists? They won't stay tourists very long. The reason we have our visa policies in place is because people tend to overstay. And no, the millionaires and billionaires won't be the ones overstaying.

No we don't.

We need to fix our current system, discourage wealth concentration, and encourage more money changing hands.

Be careful what you wish for. I will give Vancouver as an example. Heck, visit the forum a little while and you'll feel the deep resentment the locals feel against the wealthy Chinese immigrants.

Yep. I was watching PBS news hour yesterday and they cited close to 50% of US Real Estate transactions last year were cash transactions by foreign buyers. In coastal cities like Miami, the number of cash transactions by foreign buyers rises to over 70%.

Where are those billions of dollars going which our Hollywood flicks like "Fast and Furious" or Spiderman or Batman franchises make in other countries? Where is all the money which Apple, Microsoft, Pizza Hut, Mcdonalds, Ford, GM makes by selling their products in other countries??? The bottom line is that the money which US earns from Foreigners also go into the pockets of Corporates and it doesnt stimulate economy for the Common Man while top 1% will become more and more rich-whether Foreigners come or not.
