Britain finally realized the enormous opportunity of Chinese tourists. Their spending will stimulate our economy! What are we doing?

I always wondered how interest in tourism for a particular area is generated in a different area. Are most of these tourists coming in large groups with a set itinerary? Do travel agents in one country buy out whole blocks of rooms in a hotel, make reservations with various tourist attractions, and then cold call another travel agent in another country, and try to sell them into selling the itinerary to a large group?

That's a city/state issue. Many are encouraging tourism from China and other countries with marketing programs, others are not. Here in WA for example, the state discontinued it's marketing due to budget woes in 2011, forcing corporations, chambers and others benefiting from tourism to form a tourism alliance to promote the state. So far it seems to be working, with a 90% increase in Chinese tourism in two years.

You have mentioned the Chinese over and over and over while not taken into account ANYTHING negative that their emigration to Europe and North America will have.

What is it with you and the Chinese anyway?

I think what the US should do is TAX THE RICH AND MIDDLE CLASS HEAVIER to create a stimulus by allowing more money to go towards free cell phone and food stamps for those who do not work. The minimum wage should be raised to 20 dollars per hour. Even people who don't work hard should be able to feel what it's like to make a good amount of money.

I think we should also create jobs in places that don't need to be created and tax small businesses heavier, because if they have their own business they are obviously doing better than those "who really need it".

If you disagree with me, you're racist.
