The old crooks that ruined the country will die off eventually.

The Republicans have ruined America, starting with Ronald Reagan's voodoo economics. Reagan and Bush have stabbed Middle Class America in the back.

You're ignorant if you think its the right vs the left still. [quote]

It's still good guys - the people - versus bad guys - government. The left is the party - government - trying to homogenize mankind, not for his good but for their goals.
The majority of people still want freedom, liberty and pursuit of happiness while government tries to oppress it to the point of history.

Ignorance is funny. Remember you are pointing back at yourself when pointing toward me.

No, the government IS the people in a democratic society. The absence of government is the oligarchy of private capital (though, of course, capital always has its government to protect "property" and not things that actually correspond with liberty...).

The people are the government. The left is for the people, the rest are for a theoretical form of economic freedom that has proven, time and time again, to be diametrically opposed to the actual function and exercise of freedom.

The Republicans have been stuck in neutral as of late, but I can't believe you're trying to contrast the Reagan boom years to this disaster (saved pumped money into the markets) under Barry.

Actually, it's "we the people" who continues to fail the political system. Ever since the DINO/RINO voters' publicly hanged Bush the elder for negating on "read my lips, no new taxes", it's been a fatal/festering wound ever since.

Yes, be afraid -- very afraid -- all those right wing Libertarians want to take control of the government...

... and then...

... wait for it...

... just leave everyone the hell alone.

Actually, what happened was the Federal Government, during the 1960s, had a choice to make. To pay for the War in Vietnam, and the so-called secret war in Cambodia, Laos and Thailand, our government could either (a) raise taxes significantly, or (b) print money - inflate the debt away.

It chose to print money. Printing money was a doctrine under both Johnson & Nixon.

Then, the Vietnam war ended and with it all the governmental spending (stimulus), and the Arab Oil Embargo happened, causing energy costs to go through the roof.

Add those together. The economy did a belly flop off the high dive.

Wow. Enemy. What a strong word. All Millennials are not the same. People want different things. There is no consensus.

The people are the government in a democratic society. But the people disagree with one another. There is no consensus. One group of people want to speak on behalf of everyone but that doesn't work.

The left is not for the people. Only in theory it may be. It makes social problems self perpetuating while profiting over them for its political power and related financial interests. It attempts to force lifestyles onto people whether they like it or not. When people don't like it, then people are blamed for voting the "wrong way". Democracy is thrown away if the results don't meet expectations. Democracy is celebrated when results meet expectations. People are enlightened if they obey. People are stupid and need to be educated if they don't obey.

Democracy should be an open ended system with results that may go any direction. The left already has one direction in mind. Its thinking is fundamentally undemocratic.

After emptily promising ever more spending, the mainstream left then carefully sleeps with the rich (and conservatives)
to make sure that they don't get hurt much. But the middle and upper middle must pay the bills.
