I think there is little we can do but only keep a good cashflow and prevent ourselves being poor. What is the chance for us to become the likes of Warren Buffet?
And every year they become richer and the gap between the mega rich and the rest of the mortals increases.
What would you do to fix the U.S. wealth inequality?
Nothing. Them being rich is not making me poor, and making them poor will not make me rich.
It is a fallacy to assume that "national wealth" is a fixed amount, and that if the rich people become even wealthier, it therefore follows that everyone else must become poorer.

Agreed.

However, the systems currently in place create a perpetually upward (re)distribution of wealth, so a majority will become poorer as a result -- particularly over the long-term.

Median household income in the U.S. (adjusted for inflation) has shown a steady upward trend over the past 30 years. Remember that "median" means "in the middle," not "mean" (average), so this is representative of the "typical" household. While it's true that the number does decline during recessionary periods (as one would expect), the long-term trend is improving. As an example, note that median income in 2011, at the depth of the "Great Recession," is nearly the same as it was in 1989, the peak of the late-80's economic boom.

Your post is not making anyone else smarter.
You know its funny. Many "conservative", "business friendly" sorts typically make this statement. Why? Its because they are complaining about wealth redistribution. And what is wealth redistribution? Why that's someone else getting richer by making other people poorer, isn't it?
Now some smart people know that wealth redistribution can be pretty obvious, like welfare. However they aslo know it can be quite subtle, like a little law here or a little law there, tax loop holes , rights of way and regulations.
good for them
instead of crying about not being in one of those 400 families be glad you have the things you do have. im sure 95 percent of the world would trade places with you
OP... Do you believe everything that is loaded onto YouTube? Really? I should load a video onto YouTube and claim to be the richest man on the planet...
All you can do is to provide the information and the opportunities to everyone else and let them decide whether they want to take advantage of the education and opportunities or not. Their choice and no real interest to me.

I don't think many people consider these things wealth redistribution. It's people who refuse to voluntarily share some of their wealth. It's wealth concentration, not redistribution.
