BTW Petch, can you share your source that states the new amount is down to $8500? I cant find any source that backs that up.

Thanks!

Finding out if your health insurance plan exceeds $8,500 in premiums for individuals or $23,000 for families isn't so simple. But keep in mind that all costs -- everything you and your employer pay besides deductibles -- go toward that limit, including what you contribute to a health savings account. For example, if you pay $5,000 a year out-of-pocket and your employer chips in an additional $3,500, then your plan will be hit with the tax.

Ummm....Did I miss it?? The NYT article said nothing about that threshold being lowered to $8500 and the other link is from 2009, and its referring to a version of the bill that was never passed.

Looks like you made a mistake and posted some flase information. No big deal, it happens. But maybe you should delete that false information and/or at least admit it wrong and let it be known its false. You dont want people reading here to get the most accurate info as possible, right?

Yes it was. But its irrelevant as the bill being discussed was never passed into law.

I thought we were discussing Obamacare, not dead pieces of legislation. Just admit you made a mistake and continue to make your point with better information. We all make mistakes. Its really no big deal. But its just poor taste to continue defending info you know for fact is bogus. Brings down the integrity of the discussion. People arent able take you seriously when you stoop to antics like this.

So you are saying Obama and democrats didn't get more money out of the American people? I'll research it more but actually bigman, from what I am hearing a positive is I could be a multi-millionaire and get Obamacare subsidies. So when I close my doors and make just enough, I can use that in my pre-retirement age plans. I admit I have to do more research on this but there was a thread about just this.

A mix of business groups and labor unions are pushing to tee up the next big Obamacare fight: killing its so-called Cadillac tax.
It is, they say, the type of Obamacare “fix” that Republicans and Democrats can agree on — notwithstanding the problem of filling an $87 billion budget hole that nixing the levy would produce.
