We are $2.49. We also complain as gas has gone up by 3 cents in the last couple of months.

You in California (I was a 3rd generation native Californian) are really hammered for just two reasons.

As explained above, you have custom made gasoline, and anything custom made is always higher.

Terribly high gas tax.

That is why you pay a dollar to a dollar and twenty five cents more than in other states.

Paying higher gasoline prices, is one of the privileges you have living in such a high cost of living area. Everyone wants a bigger piece of your money than if you live other places.

$2.65 here, but hovered between $2.3 - 2.5 for months.

I actually saw it at $1.88 in the winter.

It's all greed. Notice how when gas prices drop it goes down by a penny or a dime at a time but when it rises, it goes up by 15-20 cents at a time? It's ridiculous.
