Also read they changed how they valued it as well.

So instead of 1+1 = 2 then did 1+1 =3 and "hurrah, we're doing much better than we though."

US Q4 GDP revised higher on change in inventory valuation method
And i mean some posters here are so ignorant it just breaks my heart.

This is basically an accounting gimmick.

That's why i'm talking about recession.

If you look at metrics without these gimmicks we're technically in a recession.

Same with the "Durable Goods" report the government recently released.

They reported a 54% increase in aircraft orders in January, even though Boeing reported a 70% drop in actual aircraft unit orders! That increase was entirely due to "seasonal adjustment"...

And considering I have a family member that works in the commercial aircraft division of Boeing and has access to the financials, this can definitely be confirmed.

Not to mention the company may start doing layoffs soon

I was joking around when I mentioned the US government following in the footsteps of the Chinese Communist party.

Now, I can't or don't even want to laugh...

Wages going up? Good one!

That increase in median household income is probably due to kids moving back in with their parents.

At least she has seniority and is very well liked by upper-management, so hopefully she is safe.

Still, terrible timing

Well if she's safe then it's alright.

I am mostly worried about hundreds of suppliers.

They'll be hit majorly

Orders literally collapsed.

I agree that retail is in a major recession. Online shopping is the new future.

Just today, Kohls announced the closing of 18 stores. It's obvious that Sears is on the brink of collapse.

In 30 years, at least half of the malls in America will probably be abandoned.

Look at the Baltic Dry Index and look at the shipping container numbers.

Neither of those can be manipulated and both of those are forward looking numbers.
And the future doesn't look bright.

Everyone hunkered down, then we realized we could stay hunkered down! Why expand again to wastefulness when times get better? The lesson is too fresh for some of us.
