all those people that bought the sports cars and the SUVs will be the first to cry when gas goes over $3 per gallon.

Nope. The bi-weekly fill-up is just a tiny part of my monthly budget, and if I hadn't been willing to ride the ups & downs of gas prices, I would not have bought the SUV.

I just bought a used sports car and it gets better fuel mileage then my newer Subie wagon.

We're back to $2.50 here. Costco/Sam's still about $2.10. Two summers ago it shot up from $2.50 to over $4 rapidly.

Thumbs up More fuel tax

I think USA and states should add 10-50 cent tax for road and infrastructure deferred maintenance and improvements. Oregon gas tax revenues have been falling for many years while miles driven has increased-Result of improve vehicle fuel efficiency.

Even here with our high state gas tax we filled up yesterday for only $2.45, no complaints about gas prices here.
