The actual cheapest Colorado I saw in my area was about $27,000. Of course it's a much nicer truck than what dad bought, but it's nearly three times as expensive.

Yes and yes. As a physician, it's patients first, personal life second. Needless to say, it's not always possible to do that, but it is what is expected.

But doctors don't need an expensive car, they need a reliable car (just like most people). "Expensive" and "reliable" are two different things.

If the lenders and borrowers can reach a deal then fine with me.

I just don't want to hear whining about "predatory loans" etc. and how they "didn't know" their loan was 7 years etc etc.

You could just get a rental as well. Last time I had a car failure when I needed to be at work for a critical customer audit, I got a rental. Took all of 10 minutes to set up and they ran the car out to me too. Cost me under $50 for the day.

When you are caught in a crappy situation, you either complain about it, or make stuff happen.

Sounds crazy to me. It's a good thing I like cars that are under $20K because I plan to buy a new one soon.

Yes! we have been on 10 hour days for over a year . first two hours are time and a half, next 8 hours are straight time.

Using an unpaid sick day, when my child is sick, will cost me around $297 if I count lost overtime, which I always work.

and god forbid you need a diesel for your needs. ... geeze 60k new now ?!?!

Really, Chase doesn't do much auto loan business? My used car loan is through Chase, because I brought my financing to the dealer and they beat it. It's 2.9% for 5 years and will be paid off this December.

As much time as we spend in our cars, if someone can afford it and takes care of it, I don't see what the big deal is. You only live once.

It seems any moron can lease a fancy car.
Car payments on the cars you have listed I am betting are a lot more. A lease for a Maserati is over $600 in our area.
