Most employers are looking to make money or save money. How will you do this for them?

Well in my last position,which the catch was it was only seasonal...I was informed by management that our department was 20% above projected sales and had the best season ever. But doesn't that get me any calls on my resume? Not yet...

Does your resume point out that you were responsible for 20% sales increase because of your skills?

How many do that? Sure I could be pompous and say yes it was because I was supervisor,but no one knows if that was why...

It is prudent, not pompous, to financially quantify your business contributions on a resume.

If you can not make the case (with specific examples) that your supervisory leadership/processes led to this sales increase, then that is a problem.

You either do not know how to sell yourself, or do not have enough sellable skills.

I will admit that most of the items on my resume are pretty basic,they advise to expand on things but it's already 2 pages long. Some of the things were pretty basic and non-important...how much could I expand on merchandising retail products? Basically stock work. Not like I brought the companies to any great profit;

Focus your resume on:

1. How you made company money. e.g. How merchandising increased product placement/market share

2. How you saved company money/cut costs. e.g. How more efficient stock processes/inventory control saved time/money.

If you're not contributing enough to company profits/cost efficiencies then that is likely why you're having troubles in your career.
