Luckily, the United States of American has discovered the solution of never running out of money.
It just keeps printing more and more of it.
As long as our government keeps the population growing, it increases the taxpayer base.
The problems with the dollar will occur when the population starts shrinking or when the tax revenues decrease.
Or when the "Petrodollar" is no longer based on oil which may happen not too long from now as China is becoming a huge importer of oil and wants to start paying in their currency instead of the Dollar.
And to think that at one time, Tulip Bulbs were a form of currency.

However, now we have our own wealth confiscation/conversion scheme hot in action in the form of the Bitcoin which is the flavor of the moment in cryptocurrencies.
You just have to admire the tools the elite use to steal the wealth of the people on this planet.

Wth.... I never said my one-time lemonade stand at 12 years old was my "first job." So no conflicting stories.

Do you really consider my one-day childhood lemonade stand a professional job/business? So by that logic, I guess selling my old toys at our family garage sale at 6 years old was my "first job" and also conflicts with my story. So my first job was when I was 6 years old.

Wait... I seem to remember selling a gumball to my friend at preschool recess. Holy crap - my first job was at 4 years old. I was a preschool business prodigy!

I'm out.

There must be some reason for people to be moving to our county in droves. We have been one of the fastest growing counties in America for several years. We were the fastest growing county in America two years in a row. If you lived here you would know better than to waste water. Water is becoming like gold with all the new people moving in.
Business is relocating/growing because of universities and symbiotic relationships
No state income tax
Good quality of life on many levels
Retireers also moving there sometimes to be w family
But you have a split attitude state

Didn't you claim that you had a business license for it?

Business license does not equal job.

Dictionary.com definition of job (google it) -

1. a paid position of regular employment.

A lemonade stand at 12 yo is not regular employment.

I have gotten business licenses in my name to operate multiple ventures, but have not performed a paid, regular job at these ventures.

Because business license does not equal job.

I'm thinking these are troll posts.

In case you haven't noticed the statistics, the rich are getting richer and fewer. I just heard the news today that the top 3 richest Americans own more than what the lower half of what ALL americans own.

This fact flies in the face of Thatcher's bogus claim, but conservatives never let facts slow their crusade. We tried their trickle-down economic theory twice now and it only increased our debt. But that won't stop their third attempt with this latest tax plan.

You seem to understand that you can't squeeze blood from a turnip, but it never stops conservatives from trying. If anyone isn't paying enough taxes it's the rich. The reason why the poor pay less in income tax is that they are poor. Unlike the rich, they just don't have much left after paying their SSI, sales and consumption taxes. Conservatives often ignore that America takes more in from these sources than from our income tax.

If the top three own that much, think about how the top ten richest Americans could change the face of America if they pooled their resources and began a countrywide rebuilding of our crumbling infrastructure. They could make us the envy of the world. This would not only make a prosperous future more likely, they would go down in history as some of the all time most admired Americans, but they'd rather have the admiration of their children.

I suppose that we could give more money to the handful of our richest Americans thru this proposed tax cut, after all this idea is at the heart of almost every conservative economic plan. But history shows that rather than increasing the quality of life for all Americans, it only increases the dynasties of our richest families...

What they do in Michigan is soak the rented homes of the poor at 4 times the tax rate levied on owner-occupied homes - what are the poor going to do about it? It's actually a substantial proportion of local school funding, and even if homeowners oppose the extra tax on principle, they keep voting for it because they don't want to blow a big hole in the local school budget.

Not an original comment but those who believe in socialism are too young to understand what socialism was or too dumb to know what socialism does.

One way or another it is true. There are plenty of people who, for example, disavowed their British citizenship. Think Mick Jagger.

Even if one doesn't do that there are lots of ways to hide, defer or re-characterize income. Trying to eliminate all of them is like playing a game of whack-a-mole at a county fair. The methods of tax avoidance just keep popping up.

Also socialism reduces peoples' incentives to save, and incentivizes waste in subsidized areas. Someone is paying for those 35 hour work weeks in Europe.

People may not realize it but socialism has a long history going back centuries. It used to be called "mercantilism." The king levied high taxes and made sure every one was provided for, even if penuriously. As soon as the U.S. (and the colonies before) opened for business the most energetic came over here. Eventually, the U.S. got the best people and, charitably called, the more content or more pejoratively called lazier stayed behind.

We have a state income tax. Governor's race would probably have been different if only legal people had voted. Courts would not allow us to stop illegal people from voting. I look forward to some day having representatives who were voted on by only legal voters and not people with legal residences from other states. We know it happened in the last election.
