While I do oppose corn subsidies, the obesity issue could have been delt with through a law banning Hig Fructose Corn Syrup.
Not gonna help. Despite the hype there's little difference between HFCS, sugar, honey, and fruit juice. Its all in the marketing and the perception that natural is better.

I used to drink a lot of fruit juice with HFCS, and also was a severe candy addict. Every break at work I would be at the vending machines buying candy. I quit buying the HFCS and without even me realizing it, my cravings for candy gradually went away. I can't prove that it was the HFCS, but I'm convinced that it was.

Not about subsidies to most farmers. For or against farm subsidies is for a different post.
Only subsidies for production of ethanol gasoline here. These are unique subsidies but as article below states - all mixed up with "farm" subsidies. Part of this has to do with corn.

I'm guessing here. But I don't think most folks even know what ethanol is nor where it comes from nor who is paying the subsidies for the production of ethanol gasoline.
