I think you answered it. It's the "aftermath" when stocks are overvalued.

The stock market goes higher over long periods of time. That’s really all you need to know.

Anything else is superfluous information which you will most likely have no control over.

who knows when a stock is over valued.. They go up and down but most of them will eventually go higher than lower. Just look at almost any stock 20 years ago or even 10 compared to today.. The only time you need to worry is if you need to sell when it is down.

Thank you for the replies guys. But is there anyways to find out when it is going to fall drastically or even before that the stock is overvalued?

Forward earnings expectations ie forward PE.
Take TSLA, no earnings but a very very undefined PE ($350/sh divided by $0 earnings)
Take AAPL, PE 18.7; 1.8% dividends, 215/share.
Your guess is as good as anyone elses'.That's why investing means that you make or lose in your trades. You are taking the investment risk.

noooooo .

everyone thought stocks were way over valued in 1982 when p/e's doubled in a year .

stocks were being avoided like the plague .

who knew that was going to be the start of the greatest bull market in history.

sure stocks were over valued at double digit interest rates , current business conditions and current earnings as well as high inflation , but that was about to change .

Two possible outcomes.

1. They become more overvalued

2. The prices go down and then they aren't overvalued.

What kind of a question is this???
