Do you believe that a stock market crash, like that of 1929, is forthcoming given todays inflation, over extension of credit -mortgages, school loans, cars, etc..?
If not, what is protecting us now that didn't provide protection in the 1920s and 1930s?
It rained during the great depression, oh crap it rained today! Does this mean the next great depression is about to happen. Same logic. Don't worry yourself. There is nothing similar to the previous great depression as of now.

It's not a question of protections, it's a question of conditions. People began investing who had never invested before. There was true irrational exuberance. There was easy credit for stock purchase margins, with a lot of people borrowing 90% of the stock purchase price. Other easy credit also caused a lot of overproduction of food and goods, much of which got dumped for low prices. As soon as there was any downturn in stock prices, people started getting margin calls and their shares were sold. That created a cascading effect until a lot of people lost everything they had invested. Plus, no Fed or SEC. So, there are no real similarities.
The implications of all that QE-money, extended ZiRP, program after program to save the country from
the so-called "great recession"............nobody really knows what the results are going to be!
