I doubt most folks have any money at all.

58. 0. Why would anyone put money into savings accounts? Literally one of the dumbest financial strategies ever. You may as well put it under a mattress.

I roll all my credit card rewards and bonuses into a special Christmas rate savings account for an emergency fund. It’s also laddered in CDs.

I also keep savings accounts for sinking funds for vacations.

I've got tons of it. I have no trouble exchanging it for anything I want in real goods and services.

Safer in a bank account if you know you need to save it for some important future payment. Like up coming taxes after a big sale. Even safer if you limit it to $250K in any one account.

I question the wisdom or goals of a new user asking such a question...
