I think if a company is going to cost cut..then they should do it across the board..not just "lay off workers". That is what they are doing these days.

CEO salary and bonus is a big part of a companies earnings and what they can retain as profits. It's just fair that cost cutting affects EVERYONE in that company.

If the shareholders are willing to pay it and the company isn't doing anything illegal, I don't see how your opinion of "well-deserved" matters.

If they have too many workers for the amount of work, but the best number of managers for the amount of management, then it doesn't really make sense to cut "across the board" and the only ones who'll know whether the cuts are right for the company are those who are closest.

The market will dictate if they're doing it right or not.

Fair's a nice concept... There are rides and games and cotton candy, but in the real world, the fair doesn't stay long.

People in Hell want ice water and life is always fair. Sorry, but corporate capitalism is not a democracy, it's a model for maximum profits and minimum costs.

This is interesting, since the local Citibank offices are actually looking to hire people - something I haven't seen in years.

Hey, people who picked strawberries wanted homes at 10x income, and the Ponzi Scheme of real estate from the early '00s now has its consequences.

After every party, there is the hangover...
