Granted, that woman is a meme in herself and lives high on the hog and thinks adulting is hard.

It IS hard, but not as much when in her shoes. But the real Adult does not note that it is hard. That's whining and complaining and does absolutely nothing.

It's as if she never learned that the measure of a human being is how much they help others. If she has a job that is of help to others the work itself may be a reward.

People make boomers into memes but among my upper middle class peers there were very few people who strove to be "rich". We strove to be decent, find work which was satisfying and to raise our children with good experiences and education. Period.

I guess, in the end, memes are sorta silly to take seriously. This is just a modern version of jealousy, bring spoiled and keeping up with the Jonesed...none of which are healthy habits.

It would seem quite simple. 97% of any trade, even fancy trades, are not in the upper 3%...

There are many doctors who are great at medicine, but terrible business people and managers. Lots of them are working for relatively low wages and benefits (considering the hours, education, etc.).

There are many airline pilots who are quite good - maybe even in the top 10% of pilots in skills. It's a rare bird that makes 100K in that job today.

"The national average salary for a Pilot is $83,112 in United States."

There are many airline pilots that qualify for food stamps, and in fact, many who qualify for subsidized healthcare.

The point, beside you and I, is that there ARE a lot of people who did all the right things and did well at their trade and education and they STILL don't make over 100K per year. In fact there are vastly MORE of these people than there are of the 150K plus crowd. Surely you understand that?

AND, as per the thread, that average Airline Pilot is not swimming in dough. They are not buying a vacation house, paying cash for cars or their children's college, etc.
So....we agree. My main point...for professionals if you aren’t in the top 3-5% of your field it’s often better to work outside of your big cities from a pure financial perspective.
