IF they go the $2000 per month I think they'll do it on a month to month basis. The way this is going they'll be doing it forever till the whole thing collapses.

Here is another article as the $2000 for 12 months or $2000 for 6 month gets to a more agreeable plan for Congress to pass.

$2000 and $1000 a month for a year via a debit card.

I've heard for years that looking way way out in time, no American will have any cash in their pocket. Everything will be on a card both income and how they spend. No way to buy second hand items using a card unless the individual seller can accept a debit card. If you go to your bank to withdraw $20,000 they will tell you the law says no. We'll be dead by then but that is what some people predict.

The way this is going we will be quite alive. If they decide to go ahead with this insanity I would prefer a direct deposit rather than deal with having it delivered to my mailbox. No need to get my head bashed in at an ATM trying to withdraw cash.

This whole digital currency this is a hunt for taxes. Wait till you see what happens to property taxes in a few years.

The government has to be in total control. Must not have an underground economy. People must not be allowed to be independent.

One of the few things in life to make people comply with this lockdown BS is $$$$. The second wave will depend on how fed up the people become. In my city, the store people were standing close in line, no masks in the grocery stores. I can see this rebellion brewing big time. They may want to influence us with money. Who's going to turn down $2,000 for each of the next six months??? It's starting to look like this is a power play tossing out dollars for appeasement.

There is probably going to be a 2nd, 3rd or even 4th round of free money because the first along with PUA doesn't help the huge numbers of self-employed, independent contractors and gig workers affected by crisis.

Despite what was included in first stimulus package the self-employed are finding it difficult to impossible (it varies by state) to access Pandemic Unemployment Assistance. Those who work for someone else are fine. Between UBI and PUA many are bringing home more money on UE than they they would working.

I highly doubt that, I (and many others) can't even get the first round of free money. I entered my information as soon as the portal went up and I'm still waiting.

These government systems are just so damn outdated, it's embarrassing.

An all-digital currency is exactly what the powers that be want. They have wanted it for a long time and the virus has provided the excuse they need. They never let a "good" crisis go to waste with this kind of stuff. I knew this was their larger play a couple of months ago when mainstream financial articles started coming out warming the masses up to a digital currency. It is all very convenient. A digital currency gives them complete control over the system. No physical cash because they can't have complete control over the physical cash that you hold. The powers that be can't stand not having complete control over your every move.
