I agree. It's not the job of the government to support its citizens indefinitely.

Still.. if another check comes I'll take it. The wife and I are still working our essential jobs so the stimulus check we are expecting this week will go into savings. Don't feel bad about it either. Why should I? There's people out there drawing UI with an extra $600 per week that are making more than they were making when they were working.

Meanwhile... the 3M predicted deaths is now down to 60k. Was all this economic destruction worth it? Don't ask me though, ask the people who lost their jobs and are suffering.

The number of deaths is only down because the government shut everything down that was non-essential. Had they not, the death toll would have surpassed what they originally thought!

Hopefully not. The snowflakes shouldn't really get everything they want and I am tired of the media running everything with no common sense. Let the chips fall sometimes. They call it shaking the tree. Sorry, people need to save for rainy days and those that do, shouldn't have to pay for those that don't.

The name might be "stimulus" for political consumption but they certainly look like social security basic income to tide people over until governments let them get out and work again. And since the lock down time has roughly doubled since the first bill passed I wouldn't be surprised if round two comes with next months continued lock down.

This should have replaced supersized unemployment due to all the donut holes in state unemployment roles. The only one CARES fixed was included gig workers, but there are still a lot included in a donut hole.

I would go as far as if any corporation takes money, the federal government will replace entire management.
Since they obviously didn't spend/save their profits responsibly for a rainy day like now instead spending it on share buybacks or C suite bonuses.

Eh, it largely is an issue of cash flow.

Time table I've seen shows first checks being issued into September. Hard to say.

True and that is people that aren't signing up for direct deposit largely. That said, I think we'll need a second and prolapse third round before then. As I've said time and time again, this is more effective than the donut holes of unemployment.
