I'm thinking "attach" in IRS speak means to paper-clip the form1099-R with the rest of the stuff that you send with your 1040R? Maybe? If you're talking about where on the 1040 to include your 1099R calculations I did 1040. But I thought I remembered there were certain criteria to consider when sending in a 1099 as most people receive a copy of the one sent to Uncle Sam and don't have to send one in. I think. If it's just a matter of where to staple, my accountant attorney in the past put W-2 first, 1040 second, and all other info after. Using paper clips. I never asked why.
The 2019 1040-SR instructions say to attach 1099-R, but the form does not say where.
Do we attach 1099-R under "Dependents", i.e where income and deductions are listed.
Cannot find guidance anywhere, please help!
Normal place to attach a information return (W-2, 1099-R that shows withholding on it) is to staple it to the left center portion of the first page of the 1040 (or in this case, the 1040-SR).
