Politically - yes. Countries prefer to rely on the predictably peaceful partner versus USA dictate that often ends with military intervention or country destabilization.
Military - no. Chinese never been good (or even decent) warriors. On another hand, that's a good thing - world doesn't need another militarist dictator state.
1. Manufacturing isn't the only sector of an economy

Since Nixon's time, China has been bestowed the "MFN" status. So who is to be blamed?
Also stop harbouring their corrupt officials who pilfered from their public coffers. Stealing on all fronts is criminal and not limited to just military and trade secrets.

It's a shame they cannot resolve their ongoing territorial disputes with their neighbors peacefully.
Time they build "Starbucks" and "Tim Hortons" along Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin, and zone them War-Free and Independent
