The more paper the Fed prints, the more metal I shall buy.
But if you bought chickens in June you would have 80% more chickens now.

They are not too hard to transport. You can roll them in newspaper and put them in a box. Chickens are lighter than gold and have more intrinsic value. Gold and silver have no real value whatsoever. They are no more valuable than paper money (less so because you can use paper to start a fire).

What is your proof for this statement? A magic crystal ball?

All it takes is two weeks to completely drain a city of it's marketable food and prescriptions. Once people's families start to starve and others lose their mental health all guarantees of civility are off the table.

Thanks for the warning. I just bought myself a bunker right underneath the White House. Hopefully it's safe there.

I hear you, but...
In the unlikely event bartering ever again occurs, your hens could have the genetic defect causing no egg production. The buyer has to assume some risk, based upon your promise.
The value of precious metals lies in their concrete medium of exchange by weight, providing absolute and standardized value assurance.
Other values are laptops(gold)and solar panels(silver).

The PMs are high-quality money and stores of value because they are stores of energy that has already been expended in order to mine them. Think of every gold and silver coin as little hard-drives that store your hard work and energy.

Whereas fiat currencies and other paper assets derive their value from future promises to burn energy to produce economic growth (that may or may not occur).

American standards of living will plummet, the welfare teat will grow and the rich will live in private enclaves with security a lá Nicaragua style. In other words we'll look more like Latin America.

The preppers were right in 2020. Food and goods shortages, protests and riots in the streets, a global pandemic. Crash of the economy. I am not a prepper . Their fantasy world became reality for all of us.

All I can say if our standard of living plummeted to the levels of Latin America. There most certainly be anarchy.

Right now those at the top as cashing in, even in a pandemic. But as long as the rest of us get $1,200 stimulus checks, new iPhones, own a house and a couple nice cars and have a 401k we are not overthrowing anything. Even if much of what we have is borrowed and gives us a fake prosperity.

But imagine the housing market crashes. All the equity built up over decades is gone. The job market gets bad and you lose your job. Now you can't pay your car payments so they get hauled away. And eventually the sheriff shows up to escort you from your home, well the bank's home. But not to fear there are new section 8 type government apartments recently built. You get to move into there. And the newly elected POTUS made sure they are solar powered and carbon neutral. So you won't feel guilty living there. You are broke without a job but at least you are not hurting the environment.

We revolted against the British for less.

This statement is nonsense - if there is massive poverty, there will be anarchy and at least partial collapse. We already saw this in Seattle and Portland in a limited sense - places where people are not able to access their legal property, destruction of property is not under control and limited ability for local government to manage - with cuts to police as these actions are occurring. Essentially anarchy even with little poverty pushing these actions.

Where did you get such notions
`
Before I answer, are you a person of color?

No offense but if you're not, there is no point in me expounding. It's going to be impossible for you to comprehend or believe.

If you're White (or look Anglo) you can go pretty much anywhere without a problem in this country. How do you expect to understand or question whether others feel safe or are treated differently?

With an economic crash, racial tensions will naturally rise. You say 21st century as if it's this magical line in the sand. Come back to this discussion after you've been reincarnated as a Black man called the N word by a Jew in the 3rd grade. And this was in the 90s in NYC

Oh and to add insult to injury when I responded in kind with the K word, initially only I was taken to the principals office. (That is until my Mother came up and threatened to open a new butt hole in the vice principal )

That was the last time I recall being called it, but had I been living outside NYC I probably would be getting called it all the way up until now. And if they don't call you it explicitly they treat you like you're the help.

I have many more examples as a kid. I specifically chose to go to college in the Philly area because I knew with that concentration of Black people and a Black mayor at the time I would not be targeted or harassed.

When you're Black in this country or a minority in general you have to make certain life choices. Don't expect to understand or question it especially if you're lighter than a brown paper bag.

And I strongly recommend not asking this question in person because you are likely to get a BLM member who has had even worse experiences than me who is ready to slam your head in. And if you just happen to be a Black Trump supporter, well I pray for you if he wins. You'll be called a coon and the first on the hit list during the economic mediated Civil War.

Good day sir

You know what you're right. If the local government doesn't care to enforce the law and you have a republican POTUS with an agenda to show burning cities to portray incompetent Democrats as the norm - then I damn well suppose there CAN be limited pockets of anarchy

(Which could be solved in hours if the national guard was called in )
