Americans should travel to China and visit them then see the country and people then comment. Stupid article like the OP posted is just pure FUD. We're the dying super power, look at how we're printing money then go on to bully other countries in order to make them buy our debt to prop up the dollar. If any country stops buying the dollar, we're doomed. We can't just send a fleet of navy ships to any country without depending on foreign oil and parts from china.

We're the struggling super power because only the elites in America are enjoying being at the top of the food chain here and they don't share. They release this propaganda about China and Russia to tell Americans it's the China's fault that we're poor and struggling. When in fact it's how the elites in the country that is controlling our economy, government, and lobbying for regulations and taxation to keep people from having economic mobility.

Why the heck would you risk entering China ?

They have a new Avian influenza as well as Hantavirus V2, Bubonic Plague and others. And any American or other nationality, including Chinese citizens can be detained indefinitely without cause or recourse. You need to wake the hell up buddy:

Travel Advisory April 21st 2021

Quote:
Reconsider travel to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) due to arbitrary enforcement of local laws. Reconsider travel to the PRC’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) due to both arbitrary enforcement of local laws and COVID-19-related travel restrictions.
In most cases, U.S. citizens only become aware of an exit ban when they attempt to depart the PRC, and there is no reliable mechanism or legal process to find out how long the ban might continue or to contest it in a court of law.

U.S. citizens traveling or residing in the PRC, including Hong Kong, may be detained without access to U.S. consular services or information about their alleged crime. U.S. citizens may be subjected to prolonged interrogations and extended detention without due process of law.

Do some of you Pro-Beijing posters have ANY CLUE what is ACTUALLY happening in Mainland China

The United States is not the best place to be but it's certainly better than China.

This doesn’t normally happen though. There are about 72,000 Americans living and working in China. American companies wouldn’t be there if their people were being detained.

They probably worry just as much about mass shootings if they come here, and they have valid reasons too.

It’s a little disingenuous to accuse a poster of being “pro-Beijing” just because he thinks your assertions aren’t correct.

Stopped reading at dying empire and printing money.

The United States is not a dying power. It is the only super power and that’s not changing anytime soon.

China has serious debt issues on the horizon.

You talk like our money printing problem doesn't exist. A country can keep printing as long as their debts can be floated by other countries. Which is going to continue until a new dominant economy exist and that's where China's trajectory is.

Every country has debt as long as their currency has trading power. China's debt is easily palatable by other countries once US dollar is no longer the world's standard. The minute the US loses it's grip of the world economy, China is the inevitable choice.

The fact is that many Middle Eastern countries are already trading oil and want RMB instead of USD because it's depreciating and they can use RMD to purchase Chinese goods directly without a conversion fee is a good reason many countries want to have RMD instead of USD for trade.

China's strategy is to dominate the world through trade and isolate US interests and they're gaining because they goods and services. While the only thing we can offer is our inflated dollar. We just keep printing USD and hand it over to other countries. What are we doing for developing nations other than giving them money to their corrupt government?

China sends their diplomatic mission and help the development countries modernize and we do nothing but print and give money.

Yes they’ve been doing that in Africa for a long time now and are well positioned there for the future.

You should be much less concerned with absolute measurements or totals and more about per capita measurements.

Many people have a misconception that having a mass population that can provide cheap / competitive labor is a long-term advantage. It is not and those people long-term become a massive liability that the country must cover.

An agrarian economy must product and leverage large populations to emerge but we are passed that now. In the future there will be far less resources in a world that has increased populations the resources per person has already apex'd and is on a decline. Prices will rise thus inflation, wage discrepancies will increase, there will be shortages, and likely an increase in social strife and violence.

In the future we need less people but we need better people.

If you think about these dynamics through this lens then neither China nor America seem well suited to be future drivers of progress passed the 21st century. But we'll see...

China has a decided gender imbalance (not as bad as India) and is aging fairly quickly. They're trying to gain a toehold in Africa but trying to gain juice in Africa is like trying put a saddle on a zebra.

Make no mistake.....the entitled generation is Boomers. Gen X, Millenials and Gen Z have had to (and are) dealing with the effects of globalism, the positives and negatives.

Kids today have to work so much harder for less payoff compared to young adults 40 years ago. The youngins are not entitled at all....they simply understand the game is rigged and their elder politicians have been selling them bullcrap since the cradle.

Let's bend over for big biz, don't tax them and then shrink our middle class every chance we get. Yeah.....entitled young workers.....that's the issue.
