I just came back from my weekend grocery shopping trips,I thought I was beating the traffic on the roads and stores by heading out early,WRONG !
The traffic was terrible, and people were speeding.
Any bargain?
well,one store has papaya at 99 cents/lb.
Use your Kroger card and digital coupon,18 eggs for 97 cents

That's what I've been saying. The problem isn't a shortage of goods, but a surplus of funny money.

There is a shortage of goods, sometimes you dont find items on the shelf, ordinary items ,in season items, common items.
Didnt they cull some pigs during Cov19 AND trash some cheese ?
not to mention shutting down factories, oil and gas and coal mines?

It seems the primary problem is supply lines, so that is a temporary problem. Some long waits on appliances. I have had no slow downs in xmas present orders, and holiday food.

Some inconveniences, but not much.

tell it to the car dealers, some are asking their employees to park their cars outdoor in the lot so it looks like they have ample inventory!

Sorry, thought this was a different thread.

The inflation is significant. Crossing fingers that it is situational though.

I think businesses right now are just realizing they can make people pay for what they didn't used to pay for. It's an opportunity.

Petsmart PetsHotel now charges for food if you don't bring your own, where before it was rolled into the cost of the stay. Opportunities.

not for beef producers. (Today a feedlot operator told me he was getting $1.24/lb)

so.. the producers are building their own processing plant.

I would disagree Americans are buying more,\in fact they should be buying less as they bought so much during Cov19-papertowels,toliet paper, detergent, rice, flour, meat ,spam, pasta, some have bought freezer to keep them.
They may be spending more -dining out, travelling, cinemas.
