The Saudis do exactly what we tell them to do. If they are cutting production it's because Sleepy Joe is telling them back channel to cut production, no matter what he says for public consumption.
There is very little a President can do to impact fuel prices. That's mostly on the backs of OPEC and oil company shareholders.
I am an oil company shareholder. How do I impact fuel prices? Do you think that my 100 shares of Chevron or Conoco Phillips pulls a lot of weight?
The current President, however, carries a lot more influence and has sent a clear message that oil and gas are on the way out in favor of windmills, solar panels (purchased from Hunter's friends in China), and fairy dust.
Can the fed raise rates to fight inflation? Yes. I do have a few concerns though.
Can they raise rates high enough to curb demand without damaging the economy beyond repair? The U.S. has 31 trillion dollars of debt. 31,000,000,000,000 Raising rates 2% would result in an additional debt expense of 620 billion dollars which is almost as much as we spend on defense. I've heard that in order to tame inflation you have to raise rates to a point OVER the current inflation rate. The math doesn't look like the Fed is going to be successful.

That's never happened. The Saudis do what they want, when they want. They don't really care what we think.

Oh, is that why they instantly allowed us to station 600,000 troops and thousands of tanks and planes in their country in 1990? Without US political support and alliance, the Saudi monarchy would go the way of the shah in a New York minute. And if the extremist fundamentalists didn't dispose of them, the Iranians would. No more F-16's for you.
Obama/Biden agreed to sell the Saudi's 115 billion dollars worth of military equipment. Our arms sales to them are what keeps the Saudi's our "friends". We continue to sell them arms and equipment every year.

That's patently false. Not to mention incredibly ignorant.

Again, you seem to be completely ignorant of the history and politics of that area. The Saudis were allies in that war and actually fought against the Iraqis. They wanted those troops and equipment there for their own protection. It wasn't as if doing so was a completely selfless act. The King of Saudia Arabia was concerned that if Iraq was allowed to invade Kuwait without consequences, Saudia Arabia could be next.

It's patently true and you're the one that is completely ignorant. Whether the monarchy is still in power in 50 years or gone in 10 is completely at our whim.

The Saudis told Sleepy Joe (or Old Stumblebum, as I call him) to go pound sand when he asked. Actually, I heard they wouldn't take his call. Then he flew over and fist-bumped MBS, the murderer of Jamal Kashoggi.
During the early Reagan years there was such a glut of oil that the price fell below $10 a barrel, which seriously jeopardized the Saudi kingdom. I don't recall the details but there were worries that the U.S. would actually have to prop up the price of oil, lest the House of Saud fall to an Islamist revolution. Eventually the Reagan recovery spurred industrial use of oil and the price rose.
The Saudis know who to thank for keeping their thrones and their heads, and some U.S. administrations get more thanks than others.
