Does anyone know what this means, I even went to the IRS in person and they were not able to tell me,
The letter stated the amount expected to receive and the date
Then on the back of the letter, it stated that there was a delat in processing reference#1647
I've called every IRS hotline number that they have also in reference to this letter and to no avail
To say the least this is more frustrating than anything, I feel like a hamster in a habitrail around and around and around!!!
If any has any specific info about this type of letter;
please post your replies
Thanks

I would not worry about it until the payment date has passed.

Mine was delayed and it was because I owed alot of money so i sent half in with my taxes on april 15th. I then paid the other half in May online. When I called, the women told me the computer made the 2nd payment look like i filed a return twice which delayed my payment. I asked her what would have happened if I never called. She said it probably would have sat there. She had to manually release my check and now I will get it in 3 weeks. Also as of now my status still says delayed so I called back and the girl said it takes the online system 2 weeks to update but the check is definitely processing. I just wanted to post this in case anyone was in a similar situation.
