Unfortunately, I think you're right. Both stores in my city escaped closure, but it would'nt surprise me to see one of them close in the next round. The market is saturated and people are not spending.

I really doubt that there will be another round of closings. The economy will improve soon I'm sure.

If all nine actually close then I believe Baton Rouge will be left with only one starbucks. Community Coffee kind of rules the roost around here. That said I am surprised to see that as a couple of the locations literally only opened up a couple months ago.

The economy will improve, but people might be out of the habit of spending that much money on coffee by then.

Yea!! the two drive thru's in my immediate neighborhood aren't closing!! I think the Starbucks inside the Starbucks needs to go though!! lol

The closing of these 600 locations with yet more to come was predictable. Anyone with an ounce of business sense saw it coming.

Expansion of a good thing does not garner success in the long run - never has. I'll take my own brewed cup of Joe anytime thank you very much. :-)
