Our economy unfortunately is increasingly being built on a deck of cards, everytime we have an opportunity to have a correction we try to circumvent it and increase the height of the deck, it will be a sobering day when all that comes crashing down.
I was disgusted, but not truly pessimistic, until last week. I think we hit the fork in the road... and took the fatal turn. Passing the bailout bill will divide this country at a time when it's crucial that we stand united. If we elect the wrong President, I think we're done.
Elect the wrong President? What choice do we have? McCain versus Obama... both wrong choices... so its not really an "if" about it... its simply we "are" going to.... unfortunately, none of them knows much about economics... and their "experts" have their own agendas... none of which is good for taxpayers...
get over the who is in office thing. It doesn't matter if they put a genius in there. The economy MUST go through a correction. It is what it is. People are going to suffer for awhile, NO one will be able to stop that. The big thing is, how they restructure the economy once that time comes. Hopefully we don't base our economy on debt again.
I'm talking about leadership and making good choices.... uniting an increasingly divided country... transitioning America from what it once was to what it will likely become, as this economic correction unfolds. Turbulent times need strong leaders. And this is the best we have?
I agree that neither candidate is the leader we need at this critical juncture.

Sorry, but that's never going to happen in my lifetime... too much money is at stake for the government to do that... unless they cut the size of government, which I don't think a lot of people would go for... because "free" money is involved...
