First of all, yes, things are a bit bad and alot slow right now. But we are not in a recession and I don't think we will be hopefully. Things are looking up now. The DJIA was up over 400 points today. We have the best minds working 24/7 on this problem and you have to have a bit of faith that men like Paulson and Benanke know what they are doing and are able to lead us through this unscathed. So don't worry- be happy.

Yes enjoy our first inflationary depression. Those "great minds" are responsible for this mess in the first place. It will eventually fall when faith is lost in the system.

What?

I'm seeing capitalism fall right in front of my eyes and being replaced by socialism. This is in my mind is more like our government agencies reacting/overreacting to a depression..........forget about recessions.

Well comrades it time to rid ourselves of the bull and bear and replace it with a new flag.

This one.

The person who is worried tells himself all is fine. If he says it often enough it is true in his own mind. However Rome still burns.

Things are getting better for me, and I have a lot of interest in where this country goes. Florida will be my home for a while it seems, unless things go totally insane.

Well the government has not announced that we are in a recession and the GDP figures don't point to a recession.

Don't pay attention to the bailouts. Just listen to what our government tells us.
We are ok, we're fine. They have everything under control and we are not in a recession.

CNN, Fox and CNBC will let us know if there are any problems.

(now me goes back to doomer thread where preps are being discussed )

KevK, don't take my post seriously not meaning to discredit your post or anything like that, just thought it might be a lil amusing to add a bit o humor into it.

A bit bad, well yup a bit real bad

Slow, well it depends ya see, if it's jobs yup, if it's money then it's slow comin to me but fast goin out.

Recession, well bush calls it an economic slowdown or something i think, i just call it gettin the ol shaft again.

Things are looking up, well if were all in the bottom of a real deep well yea, ain't but one way to look and that's up.

We have the best minds working 24/7 on this problem, ahh they have been working on problems for the last 8 years maybe there just overworked huh or maybe just a tad bit brain dead, but never fear bush dusted of his MBA so i'm sure it will get even better now.

Bush even stayed in the White House today and cancelled his plans so he could "look over the economy" to make sure it was ok.
