When you treat your customers like cattle and allow scammers access to your accounts to just take your money and not reimburse your depositors for the stolen money, they deserve what they got.

When your 18YO daughter gets attacked inside the ATM lobby and has her money stolen and is beat up, and the whole attack is on video, and WAMU does not reimburse the money and refuses to have the attack investigated, then I am real happy to see WAMU go down the toilet. Too bad the CEO in charge will come out a winner as usual.

But society as a whole will be a better place without the likes of that bank littering our business climate.

Good riddance to them and all the robots that work there.
We were with WAMU for a whole 5 days a few years back. Lady tells us "your money will be ready to draw on in 2 days from opening the account". So, naturally we believed her and started writing checks and such. You would have thought I was Michael Jordan the way I was bouncing checks as a result of the funds NOT being available in two days like they said. So we promptly took our money out, closed our account and never looked back. They had a extremely poor business model.

I also think the timing on this stinks. Rush - hurry up - pass the bailout or we go under - scare everyone...as soon as the bailout is passed, JPM takes WAMU and screws all their shareholders.

No wonder Paulson wanted immunity from legal "review"!

Do you have sources for this claim, I would love to research this?

Be thankful JP stepped in to save the incomes of millions of Americans that have checking/savings/investments/IRA accounts with WaMu. Had it not happened, not only have the stockowners lost their money, but also all the banking/investment accounts gone. All that hard-earned, savings evaporated.

Sorry to those of you that only own WaMu stocks. It could have been a lot worse.

So, how many millions of dollars will CEO be "eligible" to get away with?

WaMu CEO Fishman might get millions for a three-week job - Sep. 26, 2008
