And none of them are saying that this 700 billion will END all our problems.
IMO..we are just pushing off the pain a bit longer. Only next time it won't be the banks crying uncle..it will be our government. And who will step in then and bail the US Government out ?

What I really detest are these A-hole trying scare the population into submission when there really isn't a need to. We as a people have spoken and said NO but these Mutherfooker just can take the hint. And will use all these terror tactic to scare the soccer..........No.......Sucker mom and dad to win the bailout. It just disgusting and unfortunately it just may work for now. But like you said going to lead to America be held captive to foreign interests.

Aaaaaaahhhhhhh......Washington rolls in his grave.

When they call in those numbers they care .Polls show that way over 50% of the peole want no bail-out. That is why the politicain are trying to do it in a hurry;plus they add on thoing for their special interest beside thew banking system. Politcs as usual.

Absolutely right-- this whole "no more credit" thing is a terror tactic. What's happening is that lenders are no longer rubberstamping 60-second loans. They're actually taking the time to gather info about a prospective borrower's creditworthiness and check out their claims-- verify that they actually earn what they say they earn and actually have the assets they say they have. People act like this is something new and unprecedented, instead of a return to the way it was before all this easy money and lax lending. For the past five years, all people have needed was a pulse to borrow however much they wanted; now it's going to actually take qualifying. Wow-- no wonder people are scared.

Just about everyone over the age of 18 is concerned about this. Anyone who needs to take out a loan for school, auto, or a home is concerned. Anyone who owns a home is concerned. Those who are trying to sell their home are concerned. And especially those who are older and have much of their wealth invested in the market are concerned. And certainly the foreign investors are concerned because they are pulling out of the market!

The "bailout" is a symptom of a failing financial system. It's like trying to solve world hunger by sending more food to starving countries in Africa. You can send all the food you like, but you'll never eliminate world hunger because the problem is systematic. Same goes with our financial system. A bailout is not going to fix the system, it only keeps the fiction alive.

So, Lulu, it's important to educate yourself and understand what's going on! Don't be complacent like your friends who seem so unconcerned.

I can see it now on commercials:

"The government! sponsored by Budweiser, Target, Wal-mart, Coke, Arby's, McDonalds, and Sprint."

The house of reps will have Coke logos in the center of their floors; the reps themselves will be wearing multicolored sweatsuits with Mountain Dew logos. Every Saturday, senators will have to pose with Big Macs. The preamble to the constitution will change to "We the people of the united state, in order to form a ROCKIN' party, will drink Budweiser 'til we drop! [Please drink resonsibly]"

Then, after each advertisement for our new government, a disclaimer will come up saying "not available in all states. Void where prohibited. Must be 18+ to participate."
