This was how Putz, a member on another forum, responded to a news article about some economic news. I thought I would post it here because...well...it's rare to see such independent and clear thinking well expressed.

"Hey folks - All this has not much to do with republicans or democrats - all of them are controlled by lobbyists.

There is no one in Washington who is no complicit in this mess either by acts of commission or omission.

With over 42,000 paid lobbyists who have an annual budget of over $35 Billion / year - we no longer have representative government in the US and haven't for years.

How could this NOT have happened?

Only now is it really showing up that the special interests have (mortally?) wounded the golden goose.

It is time for Americans to take back their nation. First step - make lobbying congress a Federal crime."

Sounds good, but you will need to start a PAC and Lobby group to get it through. )

But while you are at it, make it a bounty offense. That way (semi)normal folk can shoot them and make some money at the same time.

Unfortunately, lobbying has bee found to be covered under the First Amendment as part of freedom of speech and redress of grievances. Fortunately, the Second Amendment provides us with the means of eliminating these pests if that ever becomes legal.

It has been said that a Republic will die when the voters realize they can vote themselves money without having to work for it. The lobbyists that represent the real voters (the financial and military industries) have just voted themselves a trillion dollar bailout. And all this time I thought we were a democracy.

No... the first step should be a REVOLUTION ! Do away with the current Gov hold on the people and get back to a Gov FOR THE PEOPLE.

I do believe it was the "genius" Benjamin Franklin that said the Gov created would be good for ~100 years. After that it would become too corrupt to function as it was originally intended and should be done away with.

I guess he was right...
