I'm actually flying to Tx to visit family/friends the first week and part of second week of Dec because I got a really good deal on a round trip ticket, but I don't travel during the holidays, mainly because I don't feel like paying $500-800 for a roundtrip ticket that normally costs me around $200.

Used to go to New York area for Christmas but got tired of the delays, bad weather and general craziness. This year, we decided to have get-togethers at non-holiday times instead.
I got stuck at the Knoxville airport for 5 hours before Christmas last year, they couldn't get a landing slot at Newark. Had a 3 hour delay coming back for the same reason, the little planes aren't a priority.
It's just not worth it. In October and April, it's a much more pleasant trip, it's cheaper, and the roads aren't icy in northeastern PA.

i will be flying and i hope i don't have anything like happen:
An Air Canada co-pilot having a mental breakdown had to be forcibly removed from the cockpit, restrained and sedated, and a flight attendant with flying experience helped the pilot safely make an emergency landing, an Irish investigation concluded Wednesday.

Yep, driving to Myrtle Beach for Thanksgiving from Raleigh. We found great rates this year!!We have a vacation savings account that we put money into and use that throughout the year to have fun.

Ya know, we all don't have to run and hide in these tough economic times. Be prudent and enjoy life!!

Heck yeah I'm traveling fortunately I'm only a 4 hour drive from home.

Thanksgiving in New Jersey? Bah! ha! ha! that's a joke to a New Englander.

As for Christmas Yeah I be driving up on that one too. Time spent with friends and family mean more than saving some cash.
