No one panic, this is just another minor recession.

Gee....who did you vote for this election? V.I. Lenin?

Newsflash...they tried that in Europe and parts of Asia during the 20th century and it failed miserably. People sacrificed and died to break free. You must not be a student of history or economics.

Ever wonder why China is growing the way it is...because they have moved away from communism and toward capiltalism, although they have a long way to go. Why do you think China wanted Hong Kong back so much?

You have to look at the other facts. Looking at the 70's recession unemployment was much higher and there was double digit inflation. In some areas the unemployment is high now and in others its still historically low. The dow isn't the measure of a recession alone;it reacts to the facto0rs in the economy.

China is growing the way it is because they have the manufacturing jobs that Americans had when America was growing.

When I hear some people say "just bring those jobs back to the US, Americans will do them", I wonder how realistic that really is.

The jobs went to China in search of cheap labor not because Americans didn’t want to do the jobs. Bring the jobs back and I guarantee there will be more than enough Americans willing to do the work.

It's funny how the sold NAFTA to us by saying that those jobs were low paying and no one would do them. They were not that low paying. In addition they forgot to mention the loss of white collar jobs which kept these plants operating like managers, IT people, secretaries etc, etc. What a bunch of lies we bought.

For the record I never bought the NAFTA lies.
Too many people think that manufacturing is just made up of uneducated assemblers that are over paid and under worked. These jobs were the foundation of the American middle class. To think that America can continue to prosper without manufacturing is like thinking that your car will continue running without fuel.

Who was the person who said that Capitalism is good as long as it’s controlled by moral individuals? Well that’s the problem. It wasn't in the control of moral people. It was in the hands of the elite few who care little about the working class. Why else would the executives of GM, Ford and Chrysler fly their wonder jets to Washington D.C. to ask lawmakers for billions of tax payer dollars? They are so arrogant they could not care less what we think. The robber barons of the late 19th and early 20th century did not care so why should they? They never disappeared they just hid from our view.
