So, who said easy credit was dead? I decided to do an experiment (plus, I wanted to improve my credit by opening an account that I WON'T use), and all I have to say is say wow. What a joke. I entered my SSN, put in an income, and put in an address. 15 seconds later, approved! Along w/ a message saying "you're card should arrive in 7 days." No income verification, no ID check, proof of res, etc. NOTHING!
I have 1 credit card, and am fairly new to credit. My income is at a TA level (poor) .So one would think that it should be impossible to get credit in THIS market.
There is usually minor credit score check and that will give a minimum... good credit scores will yield 3-5k starting credit line... credit isn't really dead, they are just closing credit on a lot of dormant credits, closing credit on risky ventures, but if you have decent credit they will approve a credit card because people who open new credit lines generally use the credit card (i.e. profit for the company) so it isn't really risky if you are selecting on basis of credit score... there is now a new score to help "score" those without a credit history...
