most of this abuse can be traced to 1974 (anti discrimination credit act) not all laws are good.
nobody, nobody should ever be able top assign debt to me without my consent not even a spouse.

They have been having hearings and debating this for months before the crsis and done nothing so far. Congress under the democrats keeps jumping from on ethiong to another depending on waht is in the news.Iraq for months;then credit card debt ;then the econmoy which all they did was talk and now they are into stimulus and bailouts.

Fixing the rates on current balances is a good idea. If someone screws up on one thing, under the current system pretty much everything will go up to some ridiculous rate pushing them into bankruptcy. Credit cards are the only sort of loan where the rate can get ridiculous like this.

But, after they make this change everyone's rates are going to be a bit higher.

Look for Credit Card companies to start restricting the use of their cards to durable goods , and , move away from consumables. cash advances will be a thing of the past. Look for a new type of credit card coming. It will be totally electronic and advances of credit will be debited your checking account on a weekly basis.

Including your insurance. Yeah, doesn't that just SUCK?
