I have a friend who was a general contractor...he did residential renovations and additions, and built an occasional custom home. Well, his business pretty much dried up in the current malaise.

One day, a pal at a local bank asked him if he would do a little work on a house they had foreclosed on...change the locks, winterize the house so utilities could be cut off, etc.

It snowballed to the point where he is making more money securing and watching over foreclosured houses (for squatters, etc) than he ever made building or renovating them. He has done thousands of these jobs for many lenders.

So, there's still money to be made in "real estate"!

Lots of R&D. Genuine quality. Classy marketing. I plan to create the "Porsche" of the T-D world.

The only thing I've thought about inventing/designing/manufacturing in the past six months is my mattress for stomach sleepers. It has pockets or sleeves that you can insert your arms into...

Yeah, there really are two sorts of people. Ones that roll up in a little ball when things go bad and ones that try to use their skills in some other fashion...

But at this point, I'd imagine must of the available work has been eaten up by those that moved the fastest....you know instead of collecting unemployment for months and then looking for a job.

International niche micro business, providing business-to-business services.

Dip in September and October, nice recovery in November and December to all-time highs for those two months.

When at full capacity, no time for marketing, when a lull seek to further diversify customer base, would like to break into the Brazilian market.

Expansion depends on improving productivity, winning higher-end customers, and, eventually, partnering with other service providers to achieve some sort of economy of scale.
