They have to file amended returns for 2005-2007 where they received 1099s with fictitious capital gains distributions. This will be offset by gains realized by redeeming shares in the fund.

But thank you for bringing these things to our attention.
For me it’s not the level of complication but the fact that I like many other Americans are powerless to stop the bailouts. Washington is going to do want it takes to make sure corporations and wealthy stock holders survive do to the negligence of a few elitists. I have gotten angry many times but since there is way of channeling my outrage except to yell at the TV when I hear the terrible news. The government does what every it wants and cares less about the opinion of a millions of its own citizens.

I would rephrase that myself as immediate relative purchasing power dilution of our money. The theft is not deferred.
