Apparently the madoff scam cleaned out a lot of socialites in Palm Beach and the Hamptons and for some it's going to be the end of an era, quiet literally.

I hope so. There's a lot of dead weight dragging down the Florida economy that needs to be cut off from the vine.

My parents always told me stories of the Great Depression. One of my favorite parts was when the rich people jumped off tall buildings on Wall Street.

I always hoped we would have another Great Depression so I could see that.

I watch CNN every day hoping to catch it live, but I suppose the real jumping won't begin until ALL the money is gone, including what they are able to pick right out of our pants pockets.

Does anyone think Madoff will commit suicide also? I'm thinking that he might do it sometime next year as the pressure intensifies. I think by having him under house arrest is a bad thing if they ever want full details of his MLM scheme. I'd lock him in a jail cell where guards can watch him.

You won't be seeing much of that that unless they manage to get on the roof. Most of those windows don't open.

"Don't buy until blood is running in the streets."
"There is a lot of money to be made in the building of a civilization - but even more to be made in it's destruction."

And so it begins... As the Irish bridegroom said, "Brrrrrrrrace yesel', Brrrrrridget!" (I'm Irish.) This is all the 'foreplay' we're gonna get!

No I would suspect he is a sociopath, so I would doubt that. Never know though. Hopefully the feds can figure out where all the money went and if any is recoverable.

Sorta like they did in the Savings and Loan scandal, and other ones where many people lost their life savings... while the predators have original art in their multibillion dollar homes, and savings tucked away in the Caymans, and plead poverty?

Of course he's a sociopath - and he'll think he can schmooze hhis way out of this one like he has schmoozed his way through life, never giving up his self-confidence and surety in his ability to run the *******s. And he's probably right.

The guy slits his wrists with boxcutters and uses a trash can to collect the blood, as he's taken pills. How on earth is that a "possible" suicide? Of course he killed himself.
