I wonder about the "trend" now that stores sell out to liquidators who mark up crazy prices. Good luck if this chain doesn't - sad to see long-term stores go though.

No, when companies liquidate they mark prices way up and call it a liquidation sale. There was a story last month on TV where prices were in some cases 400% higher on some items than before the "sale" began.
