I'll admit though that if this comes to be, I'll miss a Sat. mail delivery - really the only day that I actually get to see/read/toss it when it actually comes. It is odd though that sometimes things mailed are received the next day, other times a week later, and I've heard from some that they've gotten YEARS later!
While they are at it the should consolidate about 40% of the post offices they have, bring automation to more of the system and save billions. Of course that won't happen, becuase the Postal Service is nothing more than a backwards jobs system and it economic hard times they will just use the closing as threat to extract more money from their benefactors in Congress...
I just heard on CNN that the POstal service is asking to stop Sat mail to save money
I bet they do too. I remember in the UK we used to have morning and afternoon delivery. When they cut custs and stopped the afternoon delivery people were heartbroken and couldn't imagine how they would cope. Of course it was fine. I'll miss Sat delivery though - it already annoys me that UPS doesn't deliver regular packages on a Sat.

I remember this!!!!!!
"Ooooh, maybe it'll come in the second post........." !!!!!
In Piccadilly (at least in 2000-2004) the post rarely arrived at our office before midday. So bloody annoying when you're trying to prioritise your workload.
