There was no bail out offered to the Tribune Company who filed CHAPT 11 and owns the
Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, Sun Sentinel (South Florida), Orlando Sentinel, Hartford Courant, Morning Call and Daily Press. The Company’s broadcasting group operates 23 television stations, WGN America on national cable, Chicago’s WGN-AM and the Chicago Cubs baseball team.

I work for them....so if someone wants to bail them out and we all get big raises..... I'm all for it.

I couldn't agree with you more OP. The media was so biased during the campaign, as they are now with Gaza and terrorist. Can you believe it? Our media siding with terrorist. They have lost all common sense.
**Newspapers are suppose to sell the news. Not spin everything into a horror story. Anybody can do that?
**I say let the companies die. Their are others who would gladly step in. The Adult Entertainment Industry in Shreveport is asking for a bailout
also. Next it will be the casinos and or the prostitutes. I just sent an email to my congressman in regards to the bailout. A
copy follows.
Dear Congressman,
**I would like to express my concern about the upcoming economic stimulus package.
***I cannot say I am for or against an economic stimulus package because I am no expert on the economy. I would be leary of those that say they are.
***However I am against any economy stimulus package that does not include " for Legal Citizens of America Only." **Banks, Credit Card Companies, ANY business receiving such monies must insure it is going to legal citizens of America by checking drivers license, birth certificates, social security numbers.
**Social Security numbers must be verified by the Social Security Department before a dime goes out for any program being supported by this economic package.
*America is under siege, and for way to long our government has done nothing to stop it.
*I watched a program on PBS the other day. I encourage you to watch it, an then follow along with my thinking. **You can watch the program online at the following website: FRONTLINE: the war briefing: watch the full program | PBS **The above program shows how countries that failed to control what happens in their countries fall into sheer kaos. **We see it in Gaza, Lebanon, Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the*Netherlands.
**We have several congressman that will not be re-elected if they enforced current Immigration laws because there are so many hispanic voters in their districts. Nancy Pelosi is one of them. *How many more congressman will loss their power to say or do anything if Congress continues to ignore the "illegal immigrants" in our country. **Are we to wait until they control the electorial vote? I am for immigration but against "illegal immigration". I'm sure you've heard of "ask for an inch but take a mile". If you go the amnesty route, you only open the door for the brothers,
sisters, aunts and uncles. You only start the viscous cycle all over again.
*Our country is bleeding because congress continues to ignore the situation.
**It is bleeding for the following reasons.
1. Everytime gas prices go up, (we know supply and demand drives prices) our congressmen blame the oil companies. What about the 10 million plus "illegal immigrants" in our country? When the price of anything goes up it is supply and demand. 10 million plus illegal immigrants put even more of a burden on anything and everything. Our cities and governments have to ration water usage every now and then and raise prices to slow the demand of anything. How much of that cost and demand could be averted if we enforced our laws.
2. Everytime my car insurance goes up, how much of it is because an accident happened by an "illegal immigrant"? Most are classified has hit and run because they know what happens if they stay.
3. Everytime I hear a hospital, ambulance service, flight for life, health clinics, go out of business, how much of it is due to "illegal immigrants"? (Then we wonder why hospitals charge $20.00 for a box of kleenex, they are trying to stay alive at our expense).
4. How many "illegal immigrants" are living in government funded housing. While legal citizens are being put on waiting lists. **It is absolutely crazy how "illegal aliens" have more rights in this country; than Americans do.
*The following are the rights of "illegal citizens".
1. The right to not pay taxes.
2. The right to buy a house, default on it, and have the government bail them out.
3. The right to send their kids to our schools at the American tax payers expense.
4. The right to government funded food programs, WIC food stamps etc.
5. The right to free health care. (which ends up closing our facilities because of bankruptcies)
6. The right to send their kids to college at our expense.
7. The right not to work; and be taken care of by our government, for free.
8. The right to send "American money" overseas.
9. The right to take American jobs.
**I hear the question all the time our government hasn't the manpower or money to deport them.
**Simple, I suspect if you shut off public school, food programs, free health programs, etc, 90 % of them will leave on their own. **Our doctors live under a philosophy deny no one health care. Yet they are the ones that make millions of dollars a year. Make the Doctor eat his the expense.
**Make Doctors and hospitals verify citizenship. If they treat someone that is not a citizen, because said person may die in 7days if not treated they must notify ICE, and have hospital security or local police detain/ secure them.
**The show above used a phrase "Frankenstein is off the table". Well Frankenstein is fixing to have a brother and sister. *I've heard stories of millions of dollars being given to banks. The banks, not having to say where the money is being used. **I can see the "Headlines", and movie titles already. Bank Owners, mgr, clerk opened account in Switzerland and siphoned millions of taxpayers dollars.
**Drug Cartel in Mexico funded by America's bailout. Islamic terrorist group buys house in America funded by Americans. Drug Cartel son takes economy lessons at American College at American's Expense.
*Bankers family kidnapped to get at bailout money. Our country has become so sophisticated that we have lost common sense. I cannot buy a vacuum cleaner or a TV dinner
without out instruction for use with 10 different languages. As we know trees are cut for making paper. Those same trees are used for building houses. Supply and demand of trees driving up the cost to build houses. **I am waiting for the day I buy a toaster and it comes with 40 pages of instructions in 20 different languages. **Please, lets use a little common sense when we start to look at these bills.
**History book for 2015 reads: America almost wins war against terror, but lost. Bailout money found its way into Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah hands, O'bama Legacy.
*We all know how foreign diplomats and private jets are immune to inspections.
*Good intentions can fuel our enemies.
*Lets hope the 111th Congress is a smart Congress, not a dumber one.

Your's Truly,

PS: Sorry if this letter doesn't flow smoothly, but the more I think, the more I get pissed and add to it.

The biggest problem with the newspaper industry, is that they tend to want to push their own political agenda...instead of keeping the people happy who actually PURCHASE their paper. This may be on either side of the political spectrum depending on where they are located, but they just don't spend enough time understanding their customer base.

As per online stats.....about 55-60 million newspapers are still sold daily (more on Sunday). A lot of younger people get their news online only, but many professionals, baby boomers and retired people look forward to their daily paper news to relaxe with or get their information from.
