We can cushion the fall, just like the Hudson River cushioned that plane's landing last week.

If you want ME to go out and spend money, I will. But it won't be for new TVs, new cars, or company stocks that will probably take a nose dive in 6 months to a year.
I'll buy land. If and when real estate has the correction that they are trying to stall, I'll go out and buy that mountain property I've had always wanted. I won't pay more than 2 or 3 K an acre, currently its going for at least at least twice that. If they have runaway inflation from the government spending and printing money like mad then I guess I'll never be able to buy it.

I think he needs to go back to the bailout companies and replace all their executives. Overturn all the exec. bonuses, slash their income to 500k and position people better qualified for the job in them. With the auto companies as a condition of the money they must produce no cars that use gas. so all their products must be alternative fuel. this just eliminated the strangle hold of OPEC and no longer will 75B be going to the middle east on a daily basis. With the drop in demand will come the massive drop in the price of oil so the industries that use it for useful purposes will be helped.
provide assistance for homes to be equipped with wind or solar power and reduce the outlay for basic services for people.
Require all new construction to employ self sufficient technology for energy. This will create a new industry in the country, protect thge environment, and put money in the pockets of people so they can spend and get the economy moving again.
