This is a pretty common form of employeee thft really and many stores experience it all the time. They also install cmaeras and charge ther employeee and the person inviloved with them.

Why are all of you assuming that the cashier knew what a decimal point meant? This "steeling" could simply be a mistake caused by ignorance created by lack of proper training.

Or Public Education. Always a likely culprit.

This isn't really a surprising story, it looks like it only got picked up because it includes the name "Wal-Mart". This happens all the time, the recipient was friends with the employee, and they were scamming the store.

Although it certainly got the anti-Walmart whackos' panties in a bunch, so kudos.

Well, since the machines practically do everything but run across the scanner and bag the items, I doubt that is the issue.
