HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- A suburban Chicago man said his family received 445 credit card applications in a single year, including 35 applications for his young children.

Gary Silbar of Highland Park said he saved all of the credit card applications that arrived at the home he shares with his wife, Karen, and their two sons between November 2007 and October 2008, yielding a collection of 445 pieces of junk mail, the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday.

stupid family...sorry, but if they were smart they would have added their name to the list, not to receive these application forms....I did and we don't receive them anymore...less garbage, less work to shred the papers, less mail, etc...

The credit card companies are the ones that are stupid. They are the ones who are wasting trees sending it to people.
35 applications for children in ONE family. How many are being sent around the nation. Shame on the credit card companies for such wastefulness.

If we used hemp it would be 100% biodegradable and you don't need all the sulfuric acid to refine it. 1 acre of hemp is the equivalent to 4 acres of tree pulp. The hemp grows in one season (6 months or so) and the trees take 20 years to grow.

Too bad we can't do that though because of war on drugs.

Oh yea and the credit card companies are going to ask for a bailout when everyone can't make their payments.

QFT. Wouldn't it be nice if the Christian right, and the hypocritical political morons in office focused on the real problems in the world? Stop resisting and just let it happen...
