Hi All,

In light of our troubling economic times I am trying to augment my income from consulting/temporary employment by possibly launching an ecommerce business. However, there is just one problem with that idea; I am conflicted as to the type of product to sell on the internet. No, I am not interested in marketing porn as two folks already suggested, so the product must be something that I can be proud to discuss with my children . I have been looking into the sale of e-books or educational products, but am not sure what the saturation level is for educational products online as well as how many people are willing to buy downloaded books or articles. Therefore, I am trying to get some feedback from the Forum family as to what type of product folks are most likely to buy with or without a recession in effect. I am Googling just about every bit of information about ecommerce that I can get my hands on in order to make a solid decision before launching a website that would be worthless if the product is not marketable.

Anyone please feel free to jump in with your ideas and/or suggestions. Thanks

Try OSCommerce. It is free. I've heard good things about them.
