Information is only as good as the person who collects the data so let's just take it to the street corner. As a matter of fact, that's why I come on city data because it's the real news from around the U.S but I digress.
In 1970 an average 19-20 year old could find a good job that he could use to be able to buy a home, a car and even his wife could afford to stay at home if they had children. Many people in my family did this so I'm not pulling this out of a hat.
Fast forward today and that same 19-20 year old is living in a much harder world because the average jobs selling phones or working for a roofing company don't pay enough to buy property let alone affording a family of 4. So now, if you want to have a family the woman has to work and sometimes it's still even a struggle. I have friends in this situaton; its a house hold of 3 the dad works 2 jobs and his wife works 1 and they still tuff it out to get by. Many people are like this; with or without education.
